Paul graduated high school and moved to Los
Angeles to entered G.I.T in 1984.
Mike
Varney
talked to him, "How about forming the band?".
And RACER
X was
formed in 1986.
The original plan was......
Paul was going to play
with Greg
Chaisson from
ROMEO
(later, he joined
BLINDSIDE BLUES BAND that
Jeff Martin belong to,too)
or Mark
Staine
from ex-VANILLA FUDGE that passed an audition, but it
wasn't realized.
So He found his band members;
Harry Gschoesser (Ds),
John Alderete (B),
Jeff Martin (Vo)
from BIT (Bass Institute of Technology) and PIT
(Percussion Institute of Technology), MI.
They finished making their debut album for
10 days!!!!
And
later, Harry
had to go back to Australia, so
they need a successor to
Harry.
They
welcomed to be joined
Scott Travis
(ex-HAWK,
JUDAS PRIEST,
FIGHT) and
Bruce
Bouillet ( he was a
Paul's student at GIT).
RACER
X
become a
"SUPER FASTEST TWIN GUITAR BAND".
At the
same time, they released their 2nd album;
"SECOND HEAT".
In
1988, they released their first live album;
"LIVE-EXTREME VOLUME".
But they had some problems with a band.
At
that time,
Billy Sheehan
talked to
Paul, "Do you wanna join my new
band?".
Paul
quit
RACER X in 1988.
In 1989, he joined
MR.BIG. They released first album,"MR.BIG" in the same year.
Later,
Jeff becomes a drummer of
BADLANDS, and
Scott joins
JUDAS PRIEST.
The rest, Bruce and
John had kept being active.
A few years later, They changed the band name
RACER X for
THE SCREAM.
THE
SCREAM
released the debut album
"LET IT SCREAM" in 1991.
In 1999, I heard BIG news from
Paul.
Paul,
Jeff,
Scott and
John get together
again, and they reform
RACER X.
Why Bruce doesn't join
reunion RACER X? Because he has a disease of arms. How
sad....
The same year, they released reunion album ( actually,
3rd album ):
"TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES".
Also, they released 4th album:
"SUPERHEROES" in 2000.
Next year, in 2001, they play the live show at Whisky a
go go in L.A. on May 25th.
They haven't played for 13 years!
It's unnecessary to say, the show was AWESOME!!
Don't take your eye off NEW
RACER X from now on!
